Sometimes a new beginning doesn’t arrive with a perfect plan. Sometimes it begins when someone sees your potential and gives you a real chance to use it.
In my conversation with Karry Canfield, she shared how joining Entryway became a turning point. One opportunity opened a path into multifamily and helped her rebuild stability, confidence, and a career.
That is what access can do. It can give a woman room to take her next step, learn something new, and begin to see possibilities beyond the season she is trying to survive.
We talk a lot about resilience. We celebrate the person who keeps going, even when life has been hard. But resilience shouldn’t have to mean doing everything alone. Support matters. A welcoming workplace matters. One person willing to open a door can matter more than they may ever know.
Karry’s story reminded me that opportunity is not just a job title or a line on a résumé. It can be a foothold. A chance to build skills, find community, and picture a future that feels possible again.
Women need more than encouragement. They need access to rooms where they can contribute, people who will recognize their strengths, and opportunities that let them build something steady. When we can offer that, we should.
I’m grateful Karry shared her story with me. It’s a reminder that one open door can change the direction of a life, and that the next door may open because someone chose to make room.
