Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it — written to be clear rather than to bury anything in fine print.
Who runs this website
This website, Breaking Barriers with Sheila (breakingbarrierswithsheila.com), is a personal leadership platform operated by Sheila Greene. If you have any questions about this policy or about your information, you can reach us at contact@breakingbarrierswithsheila.com.
The short version
We collect information you choose to provide, primarily when you submit the contact form. We also process limited technical information through website hosting, security functions, and embedded media. We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal information or share it for third-party advertising. You may contact us about your information at contact@breakingbarrierswithsheila.com.
Information you choose to provide
When you use the contact form to reach out, you may share your name, your email address, your organization (optional), the type of inquiry you’re making, and the message you write. You provide this only when you decide to contact us. Your name, email address, inquiry type, and message are needed so we can read and reply; the organization field is optional.
What happens to a message you send
When you submit the contact form, your message is handled in two ways. First, it is emailed to our official inbox (contact@breakingbarrierswithsheila.com) so we can read and respond; email delivery is handled through our website’s email-sending service and our email host so that messages arrive reliably. Second, a copy is saved in the website’s own record of form submissions so a note isn’t lost if an email is missed. When we reply, we use the email address you gave us. How long these records are kept is described under “How long we keep information” below.
Information collected automatically
This website does not currently use analytics software, advertising pixels, or visitor-tracking scripts, and it does not build advertising profiles of the people who visit. As is normal for essentially all websites, the service that hosts this site may keep standard server logs — basic technical records such as IP addresses, browser type, and the pages requested — which exist to keep the site running and secure rather than to identify or market to you.
Cookies
Breaking Barriers with Sheila does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress, website-security functions, or other essential site features may use cookies when necessary for basic operation and security. Embedded third-party services, including Descript, may set or access their own cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies. We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles of visitors.
Embedded content from other services
The homepage currently includes a podcast player provided by Descript. When the embedded player loads, Descript may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction with the player. Descript may also use cookies or similar technologies according to its own privacy practices. Other external links or embedded services may be added as the website evolves, and this policy will be updated when appropriate.
Links to other websites
This site may link to other websites that we don’t control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
Newsletter and email updates
This website does not currently operate an active newsletter or mailing-list signup. If email updates are offered in the future, this policy will be updated to explain what is collected, how you can subscribe, and how you can unsubscribe at any time.
How we use your information
We use the information you share to respond to your inquiry and to have a helpful conversation with you. We do not use it for advertising.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing. The limited sharing that does occur is with the service providers that make this website work — such as our web hosting and email-delivery services — and only so they can perform those functions on our behalf. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect the rights and safety of others.
How long we keep information
Contact-form entries stored in the website database are configured for automatic deletion after 365 days. Email correspondence, server logs, security records, and backups may follow different retention schedules and may be kept as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, maintain security, preserve appropriate records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Verified deletion requests will be handled as required by applicable law and may be subject to legitimate legal, security, backup, or technical limitations.
Your choices and rights
You are in control of the information you share with us. At any time you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct information that is wrong, or ask us to delete the information you’ve shared. To make any of these requests, email contact@breakingbarrierswithsheila.com.
Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights under your local privacy laws. For example, residents of some U.S. states (such as California) may have the right to know what personal information a business holds, to request its deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We will respond to verified privacy requests as required by applicable law.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us.
Where your information is handled
This website is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
Keeping information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share and to keep the website secure, including basic anti-spam protection on the contact form and measures to guard against unauthorized login attempts. However, no website or method of transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the website evolves. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of the page, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
Contact
If you have questions about this policy or about your information, please email contact@breakingbarrierswithsheila.com.
This policy is provided for transparency about how information is handled. It is a good-faith description of current practices — not a contract, and not a promise that information can be kept absolutely secure under all circumstances.
Trust is built the same way good leadership is — by being clear about what you’re doing and why.
Keep breaking barriers. — Sheila
